Take Valentine’s Day, for instance. It’s the national holiday of love, not love handles. So who would not like to cut a few pounds, to fit into your hottest clothing, or to seem even better when you twist out of them? Make it a goal to get rid of a few pounds before Valentine’s Day to look your best and establish healthy habits that will truly help you tip the scale in the right direction.

  • Eating a healthful, nutrient-dense breakfast one that includes protein, whole grains and fruit will keep your insulin level steady all morning and keep you from overeating later on.
  • After breakfast, then stick with water. At breakfast, then go right ahead and drink orange juice. But throughout the remainder of the day, concentrate on water rather than soda or juice. And research indicates that regardless of the calories, sugary drinks do not activate a sense of fullness the manner that food does.
  • Avoid junk food altogether: No more McDonalds, Burger Kind, KFC, and kebabs. Junk food provides you with “empty calories” and unnecessary weight reduction.
  • Exercise: You do not need to try and run a marathon this week. But you can start exercising.
